Benson comes from academia background with research interests in advanced cyber operations, malware analysis, and secure coding. He graduated from National Taiwan University with PhD in Electrical Engineering and National Chiao-Tung University with MS in Computer Science. He holds CSSLP and ECSP certifications. Benson is a prominent speaker at Blackhat, DEFCON, HITCON, GovWare, OWASP, etc. He is the author of several government security guidelines for the Taiwanese government since 2007. Benson is a member of chroot.org and the Defense Policy Advisory Committee at New Frontier Foundation.

Previously, Benson held positions at Network Benchmarking Lab (NBL), Institution for Information Industry (III), National Information and Communication Security Taskforce (NICST). In 2011 he co-founded Xecure Lab, launching the world’s first encryption-resilient static analysis engine for APT attacks, and snapshot-based dynamic engine for incident response. Xecure Lab was acquired by Verint in 2014, as of which Benson is General Manager of Verint Systems Taiwan.
